Mont and I were not only cousins but good friends all the time we were youngsters, until I moved from Virginia, Idaho to Ogden, Utah when in high school. We played games together at each others homes. We lived about four miles from each other and at times walked the railroad tracks to play with one another and our younger brothers, Arlin and Lon. Mont was respected by his class mates throughout his school years and he was actively involved in school and church activities. We lived many miles from each other when we became adults yet I felt there was always an affinity for one another and each other's welfare. I last saw Mont when he and his wife, Patricia, came to our Logan home as they were making their way to California.
I extend my sincere condolences to Patricia and the family. They have every reason to know that Mont Burrup remains one of the choice spirits of God's children.
