Gloria S. Castanon "Cali" beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend to all, Passed away on the evening of January 30th following a courageous fight with dementia and Alzheimer's disease.
Gloria was born on March 13, 1944, in Oxnard California to Jesus and Luz S. Castanon. She loved family gatherings, eating out, watching the Lakers and Dodgers game and enjoyed listening to all the genres of music especially those "oldies but goodies".
During her early life, she worked at the lemon packing house in Oxnard and retired from 3M in Camarillo. She fulfilled her dream of becoming a school bus driver for Durham transportation and Oxnard Family Circle.
She is survived by her two sons Phillip ( Wife Maria) and Joseph (wife Jeanette), sisters Faye Villegas (husband Art) and Estella Silva ( husband Phillip), grandchildren Yvonne, Elizabeth, Robert, Jahzelle, Joseph Jr, great-grandson Hector Jr.and countless nieces and nephews, godchildren and friends.
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, brothers John, Jess, and sisters Ruth, Nellie, and Lupe.
Phillip and Joseph would like to give special thanks to Juanita Aguilera (Caretaker) and numerous doctors and nurses that cared for her.
