Sherman Garcia Oliva

On June 2, 2024, Sherman Garcia Oliva passed away.  He was 88 years old.  Born in Morrill, Nebraska, he moved with his family to California in the 1950s and eventually settled in Oxnard.  He graduated from Cal Poly Pomona in 1959 and enlisted in the military and was stationed in West Germany where he met his wife Friedhilde.  He returned with her to Santa Paula for several years before moving back to Oxnard.  He worked in Ventura County’s agricultural industry for nearly 40 years.

Mr. Oliva is survived by his sons Chris (Lisa) and Greg (Lisa); and his granddaughters Anne Marie (Bailey), Mikaela and Morgan. He was preceded in death by his wife Friedhilde and granddaughter Megan.  

Private services will be held by his immediate family.
