Sheila Myles Obituary

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Sheila Myles on February 2, 2025. Born in Swan Lake, New York on August 30, 1943, Sheila spent much of her adult life in Manhattan Beach, Brooklyn before moving to Ventura in 2001. She made this move after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, seeking the mild California climate to support her health.

Sheila was a devoted mother, a loving grandmother, and a cherished friend. She built a successful career as a dedicated legal secretary while raising her two children with unwavering love, warmth, and strength. She met life’s challenges with remarkable resilience, including the loss of her husband, Martin Myles. Their love was deep and enduring—a true partnership built on devotion and mutual respect.

Known for her charismatic and caring nature, Sheila had a gift for making everyone feel loved. Her sharp wit and wonderful sense of humor brought joy to those around her, and she found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. She especially treasured her time playing Mahjong and Canasta with her dear friends, “The Belles of Bella Vista” in Ventura CA and her Manhattan Beach friends in Brooklyn, NY.

Sheila leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness in the hearts of  her daughter Lauren, (son in law, Brian); son Erik, her three grandchildren; Holly, Matix & Birdee; niece; nephews; and many wonderful friends.

Sheila’s warmth, laughter, and love will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

A memorial service will be held in the spring at Beth Moses Cemetery in Bethpage, NY, with details to be announced.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, we ask that you make donations to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society or a charity of your choice in Sheila’s honor. Your generosity will help continue the fight against MS and support those affected by the disease, just as Sheila bravely did throughout her life.

May her memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved her
