Rosa Linda Revelez, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many, passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2022, in Duarte, Ca., after a year-long battle with leukemia.
A 58- year resident of Ventura County, Rosie was born in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico on February 2, 1956, to Raul and Paula Trevino. The family of six sisters moved to California when Rosie was seven years old and settled in Oxnard where she attended Juanita Elementary, Haydock Jr. High, and Oxnard High School.
Rosie married her first love, Ignacio “Nash” Revelez, on October 2, 1972, and they had two beautiful daughters, Belinda and Tanya. As a family with large extended families, there was always a party, barbecue, or celebration to attend, annual holiday get-togethers, and many memorable camping trips.
A Costco employee for 33 years, Rosie was regarded as a fabulous employee who produced great results. She held many positions within the warehouse and although she started in Oxnard, she transferred to help open the Westlake Costco. Three of her coworkers, Lola Reyes, Shanel Shea, and Michael Bayer, would become her lifelong friends.
Rosie wanted to see the world and looked forward to traveling with friends and family. Her adventures took her from many US cities across the country to international destinations including Argentina, Brazil, Czech Republic, Hungary, and Prague. She also enjoyed a cruise to the Caribbean with Nash, as they remained attached, devoted friends out of mutual love and respect.
Many would describe her as the life of the party, always upbeat and ready to have fun. She enjoyed music, dancing, going to concerts, car shows, and anything beach-related. She loved the sun, laying out in the sun, watching sunsets, and walks on the beach. But most of all she loved her family..especially her grandchildren. She was always present for them, never missing their sporting activities, and would go above and beyond for anything they needed.
Rosie is preceded in death by her parents Raul and Paula Trevino; granddaughter Jazmin Perez; and brother-in-law Michael Velasquez.
She is survived by her daughters Belinda Revelez and Tanya Revelez (Peter); sisters Frances Hoelle (Ray), Juanita Sanchez (Jose), Mercy Trevino (Victor), Mary Trevino, and Tina Velasquez; grandchildren Rudy Perez III, Alexus Hermosillo, George Hermosillo, Cisko Perez, Peter Ramirez Jr., Love Ramirez, Raul Hermosillo, Amaya Ramirez, and Nikko Ramirez; great-grandson Jaden Perez; and ex-husband Ignacio Revelez; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
A heartfelt thank you to all family and friends for their love and support during this difficult time. A special thank you to the medical team at City of Hope for caring for Rosie.
