Rodney Derrell Chandler was born August 12 th , 1968, in Atmore Alabama. He was born to Clifton Lee Chandler and Linda Darnell Chandler. Rodney was born without any hands, but this never hindered his ability to live his life to the fullest. Rodney grew up in Philadelphia, PA and at the age of twenty-one he moved to California with his uncle and aunt. Soon after arriving, he joined the California Conservation Corps.
In 1993, Rodney was married and from this union he became the father of two beautiful daughters, Jasmine Denise Chandler, and Kristina Deann Chandler. He loved being a father, and his daughters were his pride and joy.
Rodney worked at the Port Hueneme Naval Base as an Office Clerk for 23 years. He also attended Oxnard Community College. He always raised the bar and constantly exceeded expectations. His life is an example that you can do anything you desire if you put God first. Rodney put God first in every step he took on his lifelong journey. He had a huge smile that had the ability to warm your heart and light any room he entered. He made friends quickly and left his mark on the lives of everyone he met. His hobbies included playing basketball, watching movies, listening to music, and bowling.
On Monday, May16 th, 2022, our beloved Rodney Chandler went home to be with his Lord and Savior to share eternal life.
