Quitrel Lee Campbell Jr, 84, a proud veteran of the Navy Seabees, passed away January 9, 2022, in Los Angeles, California. He was born in Lecompte, Louisiana on July 1, 1937, son of the late Quitrel Sr. and Lela Campbell. He is survived by his spouse, Louise Campbell (Stafford), sister Viva June Nealy and his three daughters Connie Arevalo, Deirdre Arzabal, Rita Campbell and his son, Justin Campbell. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Candice Morehead, Chad Morehead, Jeremy Morehead, and great grandchildren, Sophie and Emily Campbell, Blas Micah Diaz V, and Bradley Morehead. Quitrel was proceeded in death by his first wife Barbara Campbell (Smith) and brothers Joseph and Richard Campbell.

Quitrel joined the Seabees at the age of 17 and served for over 22 years as an equipment operator. He valued his service and the friendships he made during this time. As part of this service, he served multiple tours of duty during the Vietnam War and was a member of MCBs 1,3,4,10, the 31st NCR, and ACB2. He was especially proud of his time and lifelong friendships he made with the Seabee STAT Team 0303. Quitrel maintained the Seabee's "Can Do" spirit up until his last hours. After his military retirement in 1976, Quitrel decided to stay in Port Hueneme/Oxnard, CA to raise his family and start his second career as a heavy equipment operator with Local 12. He teamed up with an old Seabee buddy, Tom Puglise, and successfully worked another 30 years before retiring again from Local 12 around 2007.

When Quitrel was not operating heavy equipment, he was running a maintenance business with his family and doing side jobs for friends and family alike. During his later years, Quitrel enjoyed going on road trips with his wife Louise and visiting friends and family throughout the US. He also enjoyed spending time in his "Warehouse" where he spent most of his time working on his many projects and drinking a cold beer. Quitrel was loved by many and a friend to all.
