Norma M. Dalton, age 94, of Rowland Heights, CA passed away on Tuesday, March 30th, 2021 at St. Jude’s Medical Center in Fullerton, California. She was born in Glendora, California on June 30, 1926 to the late Karl George Schulze and Therese Bechinie von Lazan.
She grew up mostly in Oceanside, California and attended Woodbury College in Los Angeles and studied Fashion Art. She had a career as a seamstress making wedding dresses and other fashionable apparel in Los Angeles. She married James Walker Dalton who was from Tennessee on November 27th, 1949. They were married for 61 years. She is preceeded in death by her husband James “Jimmy” who passed away 10 years prior on April 4, 2011.
She is survived by daughter Sondia Lynn Buscaino, son-in-law Dale Buscaino, Grandson Brandon Buscaino (27 years old), and Granddaughter’s Raquel Buscaino (24 years old) and Mikayla Buscaino (21 years old) from Yorba Linda, California.
She had an adventurous spirit and loved to travel to exotic places and never go to the same place twice. In her late 80’s and 90’s, she traveled to India, Africa, Vietnam, Cambodia, Borneo and Ecuador, hiking in the Amazon rainforest at the age of 93! She was of German decent, strong and proud and fiercely self-reliant. She lived independently in her house of 52 years until her passing.
She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who’s greatest passion in life was taking care of her family and seeing the successes of her daughter and grandchildren. She was always there to talk to, lend help and be a part of all family events. Her life was small and private but she touched those close to her in immeasurable ways with her love, kindness, positive outlook on life and funny little traditions. She was special and her memory will be treasured forever.
