Mitchell Allison Jones, 58, of Ventura, CA, left us to be with our Lord on December 10, 2020, after a valiant battle with cancer.
Mitchell was born March 7, 1962, in Long Beach, CA. After Mitchell graduated from Adolfo Camarillo High School in 1980, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Corporal Mitchell Jones proudly served four years of active duty, and three years in the Marine Corps. Reserves. He was awarded Expert Rifle Badge, Good Conduct Medal, and Sea Services Deployment Ribbon.
After serving in the military, he found a career in Wastewater Treatment as a Plant Operator for both Ventura and Los Angeles Counties.
In 1982, he met Elizabeth (Bryant) Jones, and they wed in 1986, going on to have two children, Brittany Jones, and Mason Jones.
Mitchell was a selfless man, and always helping others. He enjoyed restoring old cars and motorcycles, landscaping, writing poetry, harassing his children, and sharing his most memorable trait, his unforgettable sense of humor.
Mitchell was predeceased by his father, Bryan Jones, and his mother, Laura Jones-McCoy. He is survived by his brother Marc, his sister Marcia, and his stepsister Rebecca Johnson, his daughter, Brittany Jones, his son, Mason Jones, and his stepdaughter, Chloe De La Torre.
Burial services will be held at 12:00 pm on January 19, 2021, at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Boulevard, Riverside, CA 92518. However, due to COVID-19 restrictions, only a few people will be able to attend the burial. This deeply saddens his children. Brittany and Mason are adamant about hosting a Celebration of Life to properly say our farewell to Mitchell and would like all who knew Mitchell to attend. It will be held, tentatively, on March 7, 2021, location to be announced later, depending on COVID-19 restrictions.
