Martina (Martha) Zepeda Zambrana was born on November 11, 1929. She was the 9th child of Edubijes Zepeda and Maria Isabel Candelario, born in Guachinango, Jalisco, Mexico.
As a little girl, the family moved to Nayarit in and around the city of Compostela. As an adult she then moved to Mexicali in search of work and slowly, many of her family moved there. In 1967, she moved to Oxnard with her youngest son and worked as a farm laborer. She was very proud of her involvement with the farm laborer movement.
In the early 70's she met the love of her life, Guadalupe Zambrana, and they remained together until his death in 1997. Martha was a beautiful, giving, and compassionate soul who made many lifelong friends. She was the surviving Matriarch of her family and only a younger brother survived her. All her family traveled far and wide to see her. She was a mother to all.
She is preceded in death by her husband Guadalupe, a young son Ediberto, granddaughter Marisela Yerena, grandson Raymundo Elias Ruiz.
She is survived by daughter Nicolasa Arredondo de Yerena, sons; Jesus Arredondo, Hector Javier Delqadillo, Raymudo Ruiz (Rosa Maribel). She is also survived by 22 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
A visitation for Martha will be held on Friday, December 3rd, 2021 at the Reardon Funeral Home, 511 N. A St. Oxnard, CA 93030, from 3 pm to 9 pm with a rosary at 6:30 pm. The mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, December 4th, 2021 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 500 N. Juanita Ave. Oxnard, CA 93030, at 10 am. Burial will immediately follow at Santa Clara Cemetery in Oxnard.
