Martha McClung, 92, passed away Monday, January 27, 2025 in Oxnard. Born January 2, 1933 in Story, Arkansas to Minnie Gladys Smith and Grover Stachey, Martha was the youngest of four: Ray, Willie, and Marilyn. She graduated from Oxnard High School in 1951 and worked as a receptionist for Dr. Tilly on C Street, the Hueneme School District as a secretary at Bard School, and for the City of Oxnard as an accounts clerk.
Martha was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church, now the Grace Bible Church. She enjoyed the monthly Christian Women’s luncheons and the Friday Fundough luncheons, watching tennis on television, genealogy, volunteering at the Oxnard Friends of the Library, and making applesauce from her apple tree.
Martha is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Tom and Pam McClung; grandson Kyle McClung; and daughter and son-in-law Catherine and Wayne Lewis; as well as Natalie Morales and family, neighbors and friends for nearly 70 years. She is preceded in death by her husband Bill McClung and life-partner Wayne Stephens.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 6 at Reardon Funeral Home, 511 North A Street, Oxnard. Interment will follow at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, Ventura.
