With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Margarita Moreno Tafoya, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Margarita, age 82, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on August 1, 1942, in the serene town of Villa Mar, Michoacán, Mexico, Margarita embodied kindness, strength, spirituality, and selfless devotion. She was a beacon of love and light, dedicating her life to her family, her faith, and her community. For 50 years, she was a cherished resident of Ventura County, where she built a life centered on service, compassion, and resilience.

Margarita was the proud owner of Super Antojitos Restaurant in Oxnard, a beloved establishment where her culinary talents brought people together. Known for her unwavering kindness and her open heart, Margarita was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. Her strength and spirituality guided her through life's challenges, and her gentle, caring nature touched all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Her greatest joy was her family, whom she cherished above all else. Margarita was a devoted wife to her loving husband, Ray Tafoya, and a source of wisdom and unconditional love for her children: Gloria Herrera, Celia Ramos, Bertha Moreno Delgado, and Jose Gonzalez. She is survived by her brother, Miguel Moreno, her sister Maria DeJesus Magana, her five nephews, five nieces, 13 grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren, each of whom carries forward her legacy of love and faith. Margarita was preceded in death by her parents, Juan and Margarita Moreno, her brothers, Manuel Moreno, Juan Moreno, and her sister, Maria Deharo.

Her life will be celebrated with a visitation on Sunday, December 1, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, with a Rosary at 7:00 PM, at Reardon Funeral Home, 511 North A St, Oxnard. A funeral service will take place on Monday, December 2, 2024, at 9:00 AM, at El Alfarero Church, located at 375 South K St, Oxnard. Interment will follow at Santa Clara Cemetery, located at 2370 North H St, Oxnard.

Margarita's life was a testament to the power of faith, love, and sacrifice. Her gentle spirit and unwavering strength leave a lasting impression on all who knew her. She was a light in the lives of many, and her legacy of compassion, care, and devotion will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
