Luz Maria Zamora

Luz Maria Zamora, age 71, of Oxnard, passed away on Monday, January 1, 2024.

Luz Maria was born on October 27, 1952 to Roberto Rocha and Bertha Garcia Bolaños in Tangancicuaro, Michocan, Mexico. She was a Ventura County resident for over 55 years. She was employed by Ito and Sons Agriculture for 35 years then she continued employment with Hi-Temp Insulation in Camarillo for approximately 12 years.

In 1968, she met Antonio Ortiz Zamora and they wed in 1969, going on to have two children, Irma R. Zamora and Cesar R. Zamora. She had the privilege of being a grandmother to five grandchildren: Genesis, Lazarus, Jairus, Nathanael and Nehemiah and one great grandchild: Peter. 

Luz Maria was always a very positive and energetic person, she was full of life and very dedicated to her faith and her family. She was an amazing wife, mother, abuelita, sister, aunt and friend. She was very much into fitness. One of her favorite hobbies was to dance Zumba with her close friends. She liked socializing with her friends outside of fitness and going to lunches. She was a social butterfly. She loved spending time with her daughter by simply enjoying the day. She also enjoyed quality time with family, especially her grandchildren when they came to visit. They were the light of her life and her smile reflected pure happiness and joy around them.

Luz Maria is survived by her daughter and son, Irma and Cesar Zamora; siblings: Roselia Melendez, Silvia Alcantar, Juan Bolaños, Humberto Bolaños, Hortencia Bolaños and Jesus Bolaños; grandchildren; a great grandchild; nieces; and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Roberto Rocha, Bertha Garcia Bolaños; husband Antonio Ortiz Zamora; and siblings: Miguel Rocha, Bertha Rocha and Francisco Rocha.

Luz Maria is now reunited with the love of her life, her husband Antonio. She will be greatly missed and always in our hearts. Her spirit will continue to shine among us and her loving memory will always be present.
