It's with a heavy heart and great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Juana Arreola Huerta, known to others as "Juanita". She passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2021, after a battle with an unexpected illness at the age of 88. She was born to Modesta and Eugenio Arreola on March 8, 1932 in Tepames, Colima,Mexico.
She was one of eleven siblings. She was a daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, and friend. She was the matriarch of our family, loved and adored by all. She was filled with joy when she was surrounded by her family; especially all of her great-grandchildren. Our mother Juana was a devoted Catholic and attended Santa Clara Catholic Church. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening, and cooking. She took pride in her tamales and all of the food she prepared for her family. Our mother was a hard worker; she worked as a farm laborer for 30 years throughout Oxnard agriculture.
Juana is survived by her two daughters, Griselda (Mario) Reyes and Gina Sanchez; seven grandchildren, Kenia (Brian) Wilson, Krystalle (Tim) Conley, Reuben (Brittany) Estrada, Jaleeza
Perez, Jacquelyn (Juan) Gallegos Perez, Jazmin Perez, and JuliaSofia Perez; eleven great grandchildren, Kayla, Samantha, Caraline, Sharlett, Adeline, Avery, Marley, Reuben-Joseph,
Ezekiel, Penelope, and Baby Boy Gallegos Perez; her siblings, Jesus "Chuy" Arreola, Antonia Arreola, Maria Arreola, Graciela Arreola, and her baby sister who she adored and cared for,
Nacha Arreola; and many other extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her husband Simon Huerta and niece Sarai Anguiano. She will be
dearly missed.
