Joyce Burkhart

Joyce Burkhart 91, of Oxnard, Ca. passed away on November 19, 2019, of a brief illness. Born in Eureka, Kansas on December 15, 1927, and moved to Oxnard in 1953, and was an Oxnard resident for 66 yrs.

She worked for the Port Hueneme school district as a Cafeteria supervisor until her retirement in 1985.

Mama loved to cook for her family. She was an excellent cook, especially her homemade pies.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband Leo Burkhart who passed away in 2001.

She is survived by her daughter Linda Burns of Simi Valley, Grandson Dustin of Las Vegas. Daughter Diane Burns. Grandson Christopher Burns of Oxnard. Daughter Brenda Hook her husband Joel Hook, Grandsons Clinton, Jason, granddaughter Alex. Preceded in death daughter Kay Hyson, her husband Harold their children and many great-grandchildren all from Wichita, Kansas.

Surviving sisters Myrthe Dewey and Buelah Thomas of Wichita, Kansas. Preceded in death by her brother Mal Doggett of Wichita, Kansas. and several nieces and nephews.

Our beloved Mama and grandmother. God bless you, mama. You will never be forgotten always be loved. Rest in peace now with beloved husband Leo. How can we go on without you in our lives.
