Josie Parra Jones

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Josie Parra Jones, a lifelong resident of Oxnard, CA. Josie passed away peacefully surrounded by beloved family and friends on April 7, 2025, at the age of 69. Born in Ventura County on September 26, 1955, Josie was one of nine children of Ralph and Margaret Parra. Josie grew up in the La Colonia neighborhood of Oxnard and attended Oxnard High School.

Josie was known for her unwavering love, compassion, and generosity. A true caretaker with a heart of gold, she touched the lives of countless family members, friends, and neighbors throughout her life. Whether lending a listening ear, offering a warm meal, or simply being there in times of need, Josie was a constant source of strength and kindness. After leaving the workforce prior to the birth of her daughter, Josie focused her life on taking care of her children and providing support to her mother, siblings, and extended family. Her knowledge of legal, financial, and medical terminology and procedures allowed her to be a valuable resource to countless people.

She is survived by her devoted husband, William "Bill" Jones, Sr.; her children, William "Billy" Jones, Jr. and Karen Jones; beloved grandchildren: Hunter Clark, Kaylee Jones, Jakob (Finn) Clark, Christopher Jones, Olivia Jones, and Westin Jones; siblings Samuel Parra, Margaret Parra, and Mary Parra; and numerous extended family members and cherished friends. Josie was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Margaret; and her brothers Frank, Raymond, Mike, Ralph, and David.

A funeral service to honor and celebrate Josie’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 19 at Reardon Funeral Home, 511 North A Street, Oxnard. A graveside service will follow at Santa Clara Cemetery, 2370 North H Street, Oxnard.

Josie’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her. Her warmth, love, and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched.
