Joey was a loving father, brother, son and friend to many. After a long two-year battle with liver disease, Joey passed away peacefully surrounded by his immediate family at St. John's Pleasant Valley Hospital.
Joey lived in Ventura county his entire life where he made a career working at Sunrise Physical Therapy for over 20 years and he was always so grateful for the many close friends he made during his time spent there. His other interests included being a die-hard Raiders football fan, avid Dodgers baseball lover, and having a passion for all types of music with his favorite band being The Rolling Stones.
Most of all, Joey took pride in being a single father to his only child, daughter Alexandrea Marie Sabedra, whom he leaves behind. He is also survived by his mother: Antonia "Toni" Arevalo, brother: Charles Evan Arevalo, Father: Joseph "Sonny" Sabedra Jr, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and God-children whom he all loved dearly.
The family invites you to attend the viewing for Joey on Wednesday, January 20th from 6-9 pm at Reardon's Funeral home followed by a mass at 10 am on Thursday, January 21st at Santa Clara Church. Both the viewing and mass will be following social distancing and Covid-19 safety protocols. The internment and burial for Joey will be placed on hold until a later date in hopes of Covid-19 letting up so that the family will be able to host a celebration of life and reception afterwards when it is safe to gather and do so.
