Jose “Joe” Gonzales, 105, of Oxnard, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Wednesday, November 27, 2024. Joe was born on August 4, 1919 in Michoacán, Mexico where he was raised with his four siblings; Luis Gonzalez Rios, Esperanza Guerrero Cuevas, Jose Jesus Guerrero Rios, and Salvador Guerrero Rios.
He was admitted into the United States on June 16, 1953. He retired from Sunkist Lemon Factory in Oxnard where he met his life-long partner, Jessie “Chuy”. Joe was most proud of his daughter, Lydia Williamson, and his grandchildren; Jose Clark, Amina Clark, Candie Clark, and Bobby Clark; who he helped raise. He also enjoyed dancing with Chuy, gardening, fishing, and tinkering with everything he could.
Joe is survived by his daughter, Lydia; siblings, Esperanza and Jesus; grandchildren, Joey, Amina, Candie, Bobby, Michael, Brian, and Steven; great grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Joe lived a long, happy life and brightened the lives of those lucky enough to know him. He was quick to offer a drink from his “baby bottle” which he carried with him everywhere he went. Joe will be missed, but has joined his loving wife, father, mother, brothers, and other relatives in peace.
