Jorge Renteria Obituary

Jorge Everardo Renteria, 63, of Oxnard, passed away September 17, 2023 surrounded by his family after a long health battle.  He was born in Mexicali, Baja California July 29, 1960 to Jose Renteria and Ignacia Reyes de Renteria.

Everyone who knew Jorge, better known as “Chino”, knows he was most passionate about his family: wife of 45 years, children, and grandchildren, his favorite soccer team Club America, and his extended family and friends from ILWU Local #46 in Port Hueneme. He was most proud about his role as a longshoreman and working for Pacific Maritime Association for 35 years, retiring August 1, 2023.

Chino will always be remembered as a devoted husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather (Papi), uncle, brother, son and friend and for his hard work ethic, positive outlook, and the way that he always found humor in life. His memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved him.

Jorge is survived by wife Lorena Renteria; son Kevin Renteria; daughters Xiomara and Genesis Renteria; grandsons Jason Renteria, Jacob Cervantes, Elijah and Aiden Villalobos, and Nathan Dominguez; and granddaughters Mia, Breanna, and Bella Dominguez. He was preceded in death by parents Jose Renteria, Ignacia Reyes de Renteria; and sister Georgina Garcia-Renteria.
