John Wade Davey

John Wade Davey was born on August 8, 1936, in Franklin Pennsylvania. John passed away on December 14, 2022, in Oxnard, CA at the age of 86. John was the son of C.D. “Buck” and Louise Davey who moved to Camarillo, CA in 1942. John graduated from Oxnard High School in 1954, Ventura College and San Jose State College. John was an educator with the Hueneme Elementary School District and taught children for over 35 years at Sunkist Elementary school.

John was involved with YMCA in the mid 1960’s, participated in scouting with his four sons. John liked his vintage cars, golfing, fishing, recreational motorcycle riding, skiing, backpacking, camping and bike riding. John always liked to be outdoors. John influenced his daughter to become an educator as well as a lover of the great outdoors by spending time with her camping and hiking.

John is survived by his wife Mary. They celebrated their 63 years of marriage on July 20, 2022. John was the father of one daughter and four sons. Lorena Davey (John), William Davey (Sheryl), Wade Davey (Beverly) grandsons Zach and John, David Davey (Mark) and Scott Davey and his son Adam. He was preceded in death by his parents C.D. “Buck” Davey and Louise Davey, and his older sister Lorena May who passed away in 2017 in Redding, CA.

The family would like to thank the staff at Bella Nova Villa assisted living and Oakhurst hospice for the great care John received during his stay.

Funeral services for John will be held on Tuesday December 27, 2022, with a visitation from 9 am -11 am followed by the service starting at 11 am at the Reardon Funeral Home, 511 North A St. Oxnard. The interment will follow at Santa Clara Cemetery, 2370 North H St. Oxnard.
