Jennie Muro Obituary

When it comes to our beautiful mom, our dad has always said that "dynamite comes in small packages." Jennie was our firecracker, our spark, and we were blessed with her comedy, courageousness, and her voice that gave us power and love. It is with the deepest sorrow that we announce her sudden passing on February 12, 2026, after her brave recovery from a stroke in December.

Every day, she fiercely worked to improve her abilities in physical therapy, and as a family there was nothing we wouldn't do to help her achieve her goal of coming home and walking to her favorite store, the Red Barn. We know that she is walking powerfully in heaven, with her strong legs, bright clothes, and cute tennis shoes on.

Jennie was born in Oxnard on May 15,1945 to Pablo and Dolores Marin and was one of 10 siblings. She was proud to share that she grew up on Mckinley St. in La Colonia, and she always told us that one has to be tough and strong-minded to make it in this world. Jennie attended Woodrow Wilson school and Oxnard High School.

She met the love of her life, Joe Muro, and became a match like no other, supporting and loving each other for 53 years of marriage; when the chips were down, their commitment to each other was unbeatable. She was a mom to remember, with her funny quips and energy, often taking her kids and their neighborhood friends to activities all around town. She supported us through our education, our career goals, and through life's many ups and downs that she often said would come. Jennie was an incredible grandmother, always ready with games and excitement for the kids, dancing with them in the kitchen and running around a sprinkler in the summertime.

She is survived by her husband, Joe Muro; son Paul Muro and daughter-in-law Olivia; daughter Claudine Muro and son-in-law Alejandro; grandchildren: Madelyn, Josiah, and Ella; brothers: Leo, Gene, and Eddie Marin who she loved dearly. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews who she loved with all of her heart and her dear friends who blessed her with their company and kept her in prayer.
