Jean Brennan

Jean Brennan died in Bakersfield, California on February 27, 2022. Jean was born in Los Angeles, California in December 1929 to Leslie and Ida May Wiggins. She attended Westlake School for girls for high school and then attended the University of Southern California (USC) where she earned a Bachelors Degree of Science in International Real Estate. 

Jean spent about 40 years as a real estate agent and property manager in Oxnard, California, specifically in the Silver Strand Beach area. Jean loved books and was a voracious reader, regularly checking out stacks of books from the local public library. She especially enjoyed mysteries and her favorite author was David Baldacci.

Jean was an avid bridge player later in life, even taking lessons to brush up on her skills and she enjoyed playing once or twice a week with a group of friends at the Village Country club in Lompoc, California. For several years, Jean was an active member of Toastmasters International, where she enjoyed the challenge of honing her public speaking skills.

Jean's husband of 25 years, John Brennan, and her husband of 4 years, George Janatsch both preceded her in death. She is survived by her brother, John Wiggins, by her three children Ralph Merwin, Susan DePew, and Patrick Brennan, by her grandchildren Natalie Merwin, Shannon Whinnery, Shelby DePew, Brennan DePew, Evan and Andrew Brennan, and by her great-grandchildren Lincoln and Dexter Whinnery.

A memorial service will be held at Reardon Funeral Home in Oxnard on April 9, 2022, at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity.
