James H. Yarbrough, 75, was called home on February 11,2023, surrounded by his family.
James was born in Santa Maria, CA on March 22,1947, to Willard and Exa Yarbrough. He was one of ten children.
In 1957, the Yarbrough Family moved to Santa Paula, CA., on Limoneira Ranch. James graduated from Santa Paula High School in 1966. Shortly after he was drafted to the Army and reported to Fort Ord, CA. He then was stationed at Fort Lewis, WA., Germany, and Fort MacArthur, CA. After proudly serving, James was honorably discharged before returning home to Santa Paula, CA. From there, he went to college and graduated a few years later.
James met the love of his life, Jennifer, while they both worked at Ventura County Hospital and married in 1975. In 1981, after living in Spokane, WA. for a few years, James and his family moved back to Ventura, CA. and remained lifelong residents with their 3 children.
James was a talented artist, a collector of various items, and had a huge love for music. He was a jack of all trades, which led him to working at ALL-VAC for over 20 years. However, nothing gave him more joy than the joy he had when he was around family.
James is survived by his wife of 48 years, Jennifer, his children Kelbi, Jason, Jaclyn (son-in-law Reggie), and Jillian. As well as his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Also, his siblings Frank, Caroline and their families. James had tremendous love and pride for all his nieces, nephews, and extended family. He has such a large family, please know that limitation of listed names does not equate to lack of love or acknowledgement.
He is preceded in death by his father and mother Willard and Exa Yarbrough. As well as siblings Wayne, Joe, Tim, Tom, Joyce, JoAnn, and Lois along with lifelong family friend Frank Woods.
To help celebrate James’s life, all family and friends are invited to his memorial service at Church of God-Chapel of Praise located at 221 N 9th St, Santa Paula, CA. Memorial service at 11:00 a.m.
