Frank B. Ortiz passed away on January 21, 2023, at 88. He was born on April 20, 1934 in Santa Paula, California to Crescencio and Bartola Ortiz. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, and friend.
Frank had a successful career as a businessman and citrus and avocado rancher, where he worked for 70 years as a founding member of Ortiz Bros. Trucking, Inc, Four-B Industries, Inc, Ortiz Ranches, and later Ortiz Transportation, Inc.. He was known for his hard work, dedication, and strong work ethic. He was also a respected member of the Ventura County agriculture industry.
Frank was a loving and devoted man to his wife Eugenia Ortiz for 69 years. He was always there for his family, providing love, guidance, and support. He was a role model for his children and grandchildren, teaching them the values of hard work, determination, and family.
Frank loved to spend time with his family over the years, including many trips to his lake house at Lake Nacimiento, Bradley , California. But his true pleasure was to attend sporting events and activities of all his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also enjoyed traveling over the last several years to visit his grandchildren at all their colleges throughout the United States.
Frank's favorite sport teams were all LA based of course, including the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Los Angeles Lakers, and the UCLA bruins. He was an avid fan of all these teams and cheered them on his entire life.
Frank will be deeply missed by the love of his life ,Eugenia Ortiz, his children and their spouses Brenda and Dennis McMurray, Frank Ortiz Jr (deceased) and Jeannie Ortiz, Corrinne and Bill Leonardo, Dianne and TC Clay, and Tim and Lisa Ortiz. His loving grandchildren: Jennifer, Dennis, Frank Ortiz III(Ponch), Jena, Corrie, Ashley, Francesca, Amanda, Miranda, Diandra, Macauley, Makenna and Miles. In addition, his seventeen great grandchildren. His brothers John B. Ortiz(Chayo) and Eddie Ortiz, and numerous other family and his many friends. He was a kind and gentle soul who touched the lives of many.
A funeral mass will be held on Friday, January 27th, 2023, at 11:30 am at Our Lady of Assumption Church, 3175 Telegraph Road, Ventura, California. Following the mass, interment will be held at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, 5400 Valentine Road, Ventura, California.
