Florentino B. Ramirez, 91, of Oxnard CA, sadly passed away on June 26, 2023, after a brief battle with lung cancer. Florentino was born to Manuel Ramirez and Selsa Barajas on October 15, 1931. After attending Santa Clara High School, Mr. Ramirez went on to serve our country in the Airforce during the Korean War. Afterward he started his career at Point Mugu Base as a computer programmer and retired in 1986.
His family will remember him as a respectable man that valued honest and hard work. For his children, he was not only a provider, but he made sure to spend time with them and in still some of his values and beliefs. He was devoted to being a good Catholic Man and would attend mass at St. Anthony's Church every Sunday with his wife. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus for many years. Mr. Ramirez enjoyed talking with his grandchildren and great grandchildren about how much Oxnard has changed throughout the years. His biggest interests were Western Lifestyle and tending to his yards.
Mr. Ramirez is survived by his loving wife Maria M. Ramirez, his 5 children and families; Kenny (Diane) Ramirez, Nancy Laubacher, Anthony (Jennifer) Ramirez, Sally Mabry, his stepdaughter, and family; Florence Del Castillo, and his three siblings; Cepherino (Helen) Ramirez, Elvira Crutcher, and Dolores Ramirez.
To all those he loved and touched deeply, please join us on Sunday, July 9, 2023, for his Visitation and Rosary between 5 and 9 pm at Reardon Funeral Home, 511 N. A St., Oxnard, CA 93030. On July 10th we will have his Mass at 10 am at St. Anthony's Church, 2511 S. C St., Oxnard, CA 93033.
