We mournfully announce the passing of Felipe Jesus Rendon a.k.a “Big Phil”, 69, of Oxnard. Phil gained his wings on May 29, 2021, after a hard-fought battle with multiple illnesses at St. John’s Regional Medical Center.
Phil, born to Andres and AnaMaria Rendon, took his first breath on December 26th, 1952 in Mazatlán, Mexico. Phil was a force to be reckoned with from the get-go.
Phil moved from Logan Heights in San Diego to Oxnard California where he lived out the remainder of his life with his wife, Christine Rendon.
He lived a full and vibrant life with more friends than you could count. Anywhere he went everyone would say “what’s up OG, or what’s up Big Phil”.
He enjoyed spending time with his great-grandkids Enoch, Aaliyah, and Ruben. He was their Tata Phil and ask asked for them constantly. They were the light of his life. He especially loved his visits with his granddaughter Mari who visited often.
He also enjoyed fishing with his brother-in-law Pops, rolling cigarettes from his bugler bag. Always had to have his Rollie’s. He just liked having a good time.
He is survived by his wife Christine, numerous sons, stepsons, daughter, stepdaughters, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, and numerous friends over the years.
You may not have always agreed with him, talked, or visited as much but if ever you had a problem or needed something. He was ready to jump and was always ready to hand out a few lumps & bumps.
We will miss him dearly. Rest Easy Big Phil.
Services will be held at Reardon Funeral Home,
