Faigofie Tafua Aina, 74, died Friday, June 7, 2024 in Ventura. He was a born August 13, 1949 in Fitiuta, American Samoa and was a 40-year Ventura County resident, moving here from Honolulu, Hawaii.
Faigofie served in the United States Marine Corps, worked for Northrop Grumman from which he was retired, and was a member of the VFW and Fraternal Order of Eagles. He lived in Oxnard and enjoyed bowling, shooting pool, walking his dog Leela, traveling to visit friends and family, getting drinks with friends, spearfishing, and barbecuing a good ol’ ribeye.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Desiree and Daniel Cornejo; sons and daughters-in-law: Faigofie Jr. and Maria Aina and Lester and Jeanette Aina; grandchildren: Madison-Leigh and Nicolas Holl, Shelby and Daniel Cornejo, and Maximus, Kelijah, Kayson, and Yolanda Aina; 4 brothers; and 3 sisters. Faigofie was widowed after 28 years of marriage to Yolanda Canne.
Visitation and services will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 6 at Reardon Funeral Home, 511 North A St., Oxnard.
