Our loving and dearest sister and aunt, Elvira Ysordia, was born on April 30,1930, to Candelario
and Maria Santos Ysordia. “Viri” to family and friends, sadly passed away on October 14, 2022 in
Oxnard Ca. at the age of 92. Viri was a parishioner at St. Anthony’s Church and always had an abundance
of faith in God. She prayed the rosary everyday.
She was an avid reader and a big Dodger fan.
Viri will be remembered for her maternal love and the peaceful home she created for all her nieces and
nephews. Some were like her grandchildren. Albert Mendez (Tamara), Richard Mendez (Lorraine), and
Jennifer Wallace (Eric). The family loved spending holidays at her home, especially Easter, Thanksgiving
and Christmas. Viri made the best tamales, posole, tostadas, German chocolate cake and had the best
coffee ever.
She was loved beyond words by her sister, Marie. Who will be forever grateful for Viri devoting her life
to raising her and her twin brother Alfred and niece Elvira Hong.
She is preceded in death by her parents Candelario and Maria Santos Ysordia, brother John Ysordia, sister
Josphine Orosco, niece Elvira Hong and cousin Francisca Zuniga.
