With great sadness, we announce the passing of Dolores Jean Parker on July 2, 2021. Dolores was born on May 18, 1940, to Alton and Madeline Lewis.
Dolores was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother who was not only loved by her family but also by lifelong friends she met during her 40+ years in the banking industry.
A lifelong resident of Oxnard, CA. she met her future husband and love of her life, John, through her oldest brother Bill and after a brief courtship were wed in 1957 and were preparing to celebrate their 64th wedding anniversary this month.
She always looked forward to their annual trips to Reno and Las Vegas as this would give her the opportunity to catch up with friends and family as well as attend the Reno and National Final rodeos. The cowboy life that our father lived and shared with her had turned into her greatest passion and would remain as such throughout the rest of her days.
Dolores began working at Bank of A Levy in the early sixties where she would embark on a 45-year journey in the banking industry. This journey would enable her to meet those who would later become a second family in her life. A family that she would always cherish.
A mother of four she was preceded in death by her parents, brother Bill Lewis and daughter Jeanne Lynn Parker.
She is survived by her husband John and three sons John (Linda), Jony (Christine) and James, grandchildren Elizabeth and Jenny, brothers Harold and Alton Jr/Bubby (Virginia) as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life memorial will be held on Saturday, July 17ht, 2021 at 11a at the Reardon Funeral Home, 511 North A St. Oxnard, so all who knew and loved Dolores can celebrate the woman who impacted so many lives in so many ways.
