David W. Smith

David W. Smith, 52, passed away peacefully Monday, October 14, 2024 at his home, Hillside House in Santa Barbara.  He was born January 23,1972 in Oxnard to Gerald and Carol Smith and resided in Camarillo for the first 14 years of his life, where he attended Camarillo United Methodist Church with his family.

He attended special education at Penfield in Saticoy for preschool, Garden Grove Elementary in Simi Valley until he was 12, and one year at Rio Mesa High School.

David moved to Hillside House in Santa Barbara in August of 1986 and attended Dos Pueblos High School and Santa Barbara City College. He participated in numerous special programs and enjoyed traveling and going out in the community with Easy Lift Transportation. He attended Calvary Chapel in Santa Barbara, where he was a member.

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 23 at Conejo Mountain Memorial Park, Camarillo. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 9 at Hillside House, 1235 Veronica Springs Rd, Santa Barbara. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of David may be made to Hillside House at the same address.
