Our sweet oldie, Daniel “Danny Boy” Guerra, made his way to heaven on Friday, November 8, 2024. At home, surrounded by his loving family at the age of 89.
Born in Santa Paula to Margarita & Ventura Guerra and the youngest of five children, Danny spent his happy childhood exploring the sandy bluffs and unpaved roads of Port Hueneme. He shared many stories of his adventures along Bubbling Springs creek to the shores of Hueneme beach.
Quick-witted and sharp of mind to the end, Danny was sure to greet you with a smile and a jovial ‘hey dude!’. Dad loved long walks, driving his truck and tending to his faithful companion, Princess Leia. He enjoyed watching sports and visiting with family & friends. For his grandchildren he felt no truer love or pride, he was indeed their biggest fan. He was lovingly regarded as “Uncle Danny” by so many people, regardless of actual relation. Danny was a pure soul, funny, charming and genuine, the ‘real-deal’.
We’ll miss the way he made us laugh, the mischievous look in his eye and the way he made everyone feel like they were a part of the family. Dan the Man, the Dude, Danny-boy, our Oldie but Goodie…you will be missed beyond measure and loved forever more.
Daniel is survived by sons: Gilbert and David Guerra; daughter Lilly (husband Joe); and grandchildren: Synthia, Joseph, and Danielle. He was preceded in death by his eldest son, Ruben Guerra.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 18 at Reardon Funeral Home, 511 North A Street, Oxnard. Funeral service will begin at 11:00am. A reception will follow.
