Cynthia (Cindy) Delise McBride was born on Sunday, October 19, 1958 Oxnard ca. to the union of Clarence E. McBride Sr. and Edna Mae McBride. Cindy attended Marina West Elementary, Haydock Jr. High and Hueneme High School. After graduating high school, Cindy attended Ventura College where she earned her AS Degree in Administration of Justice. Cindy was always involved in extra-curricular activities. She was a Debutante for the 20th Century Onyx Club in 1975. She ran track and field for the City of Oxnard Parks and Recreation, Haydock Jr. High, Hueneme High School and Ventura College. Cindy was also a cheerleader for Ventura College. She was employed at Camarillo State Hospital as a hospital worker, Golden One Dental and later at Vitro Laboratory Inc., Government Defense Company.
Cindy accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and grew up attending church on a regular basis. She sang in with a community group choir known thru out Ventura County as the Oxnard Community Choraliers. The choir was largely a makeup of family members which included her mother, brothers, aunts, cousins and others that lived throughout the community. Cindy remained committed to her faith until her death.
Cindy was always interested in modeling as a possible career. She attended Barbizon Modeling and Acting from 1978-1979. Cindy enjoyed modeling and "struts her walk" throughout Southern California. Cindy excelled which later landed her a modeling contract in Europe. Cindy traveled Europe as a runway model for various modeling agencies.
Upon returning home from Europe and taking time to decide on what she wanted to do next. She was employed at Golden One Dental for 9 years. It was during the Christmas party at Golden One when she caught the eye of the owner, Karl H. Lehmann. Cindy and Karl traveled the world and enjoyed the finer things life had to offer until his unexpected death in 2004. During their time together, Cindy and Karl adopted a black Labrador Mix and named her Kimba.
After Karl's death, Cindy gravitated to her nephews and played a very active part in their lives, whether sporting events, school or church functions. Christmas Eve morning was always special for Cindy, as she enjoyed Christmas Eve breakfast and lavished everyone with gifts. Cindy loved football and especially enjoyed it when the family watched together.
Cindy was preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Edna McBride, sister, Janice Inman, brother Walter McBride and love of her life Karl Lehmann.
Her memory will be cherished by her sister Margaret Ann Jones (Ed), brother, Clarence McBride II (Felicia) nephews and nieces, Keenan, Kendall, Kaysha Jones, Kimason Brown, Andrett (Dee) McBride, Justin Hueston, Clarence McBride III, Jordan McBride, Julianna, Malakai and Jace and a host of family and friends.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Reardon Funeral Home, Oxnard. A viewing will be held on Thursday, September 30, 2021 from 4-9 pm in the chapel. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Bethel AME Church located on 855 South F Street, Oxnard. A final viewing will be offered from 9:30-10:00 am preceding the funeral service.
