Cristie Jean Apodaca “Gramma CoCo”, age 63, passed away on November 14, 2025, in Oxnard, California. Born on June 11, 1962, in Santa Barbara, and raised in Oxnard California, Cristie brought warmth and joy to those around her throughout her life. Cristie had a heart of gold. She loved unconditionally and forgave freely. Her generosity knew no bounds—she would give you the shirt off her back without hesitation. Despite facing personal challenges throughout life, including living and battling with Addiction. Addiction does not discriminate Eventually Your body can only take so much. Cristie became ill until she couldn’t fight no more!!
Cristie earned her GED and carried with her a deep sense of pride in her accomplishments. She was known for her vibrant personality—always loud, always silly—and for the love she poured into every corner of her life. Her home was a reflection of her spirit: filled with charming knickknacks, family photos, and the unmistakable touch of someone who loved crafting and decorating. Whether tending to her garden or color-coordinating her wardrobe with meticulous care, Cristie found joy in the details.
Family meant everything to Cristie. She shared an unbreakable bond with her mother Cynthia and would do anything for her. Her sisters Julie (“My IT!!”), Ginger (“My sis of all sis”), and Suzanne (“Susu”) were not just siblings but lifelong companions whose closeness brought Cristie immense comfort and joy.
Cristie maintained a close friendship with her ex-husband Jose; together they shared two beloved fur babies, Koby (now at rest) and Gizmo. Her love for them was unwavering.
She now joins in heaven those she missed dearly: Grammie - her cherished grandmother.
Cristie's resilience never dimmed the light she brought into the lives of others.
A cleaning fanatic by nature, Cristie could always be counted on to tidy up after every holiday or event—a role she embraced with pride. Her organizational skills were a plus. ; from writing everything down to keeping things just so, she found peace in orderliness.
She was a devoted mother to her one and only daughter, Lilly Woodruff—her ( “My Girl,” )as she lovingly called her—whom she cherished beyond words. Cristie also held great love for Lilly’s husband Steve and their four daughters Sammy,(My American Idol)~ Stephanie ( My Diva) ~ Sarah ( My Soccer player Stevie ( My love) and plus her stepdaughter Alicia.( Beautiful ) she also has two grandson James and Joey who are great Chefs who love to cook and was looking forward with excitement to welcoming a great-grandchild in early 2026. Which unfortunately God had other plans for cristie. She loved her nieces and nephews. We are FAMILY!!
Her legacy is one of laughter, love, forgiveness, and fierce devotion to family. May Cristie’s memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
