It is with great sadness that the family of Catalina Martinez Torres announces her passing on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at the age of 96.
Catalina was the beloved wife of the late Antonio Torres, and a devoted mother to her children: the late Antonio Torres Jr. (Arcie), Arthur Torres (beloved Kathy), Adrian Torres, and Maria Brown (Billy). She was a cherished grandmother to seventeen grandchildren, great-grandmother to thirty-four great-grandchildren, and blessed to be a great-great-grandmother to one.
For 35 years, Catalina proudly served the Oxnard School District, touching countless lives with her dedication and kindness. She also volunteered and served faithfully with Our Lady of Guadalupe Church of Oxnard for over 30 years, offering her time, heart, and unwavering commitment to her community.
Catalina found joy in the simple, beautiful parts of life—spending time with her family, tending to her garden, and sharing her love through cooking, most important her Christmas tamales. She will be remembered for her loving smile, charismatic personality, and her deep desire to keep her family united always.
