Carol Ann Flores Beck, a lifelong resident of Oxnard, passed away peacefully in her hometown on August 23, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was 68 years old.
Born on March 4, 1957, to Pedro Rincon Flores and Esther Serros-Flores, Carol lived a life dedicated to faith, family, and her community. She was an educator and administrator for more than 40 years, touching the lives of thousands of students and families in the Oxnard Elementary, Hueneme, and El Rio School Districts, as well as Our Lady of Guadalupe School. She was a trusted mentor to many, leaving an enduring legacy of guidance, compassion, and leadership.
To her family and friends, she was lovingly known as “Auntie Carol,” a title that spoke to her nurturing heart and the way she made everyone feel like family. She found joy in celebrating milestones, offering guidance, and creating countless special memories with those she loved.
A proud alumna of Santa Clara High School (Class of 1975), Carol went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from Dominican College of San Rafael (Class of 1979) and her master’s degree from California Lutheran University.
Carol was a devoted member of Mission Basilica San Buenaventura and participated in the Order of Christian Initiation for Adults (OCIA) there. She received all of her sacraments at Santa Clara Church, a parish that always held a special place in her heart. She was also an active member of numerous organizations, including PTO, Lions Club, Sister Cities, the Oxnard Performing Arts Center, and the Association of Mexican American Educators.
She loved trailer camping, traveling, and spending quality time with her nieces and nephews, and she cherished Friday nights at Heritage Square and dinner dates with her beloved husband, Bruce. Her generosity, kindness, and vibrant spirit will be remembered by all who knew her.
