Andrea Baisch Obituary

Andrea Christin Baisch was born in Maine on November 14, 1947. The daughter of Anne and Christy Chrissikos, she spent her childhood living on the East Coast as a Navy Brat. When her father was stationed in Exmouth, Australia, it was there she met the love of her life, Douglas Baisch. The two were happily married for 44 years and made Oxnard, California, their home.

After the tragic loss of their firstborn, Christy Adam, they provided the very best childhood to Randi Anne and Curtis Jacob, which was full of adventure and memory-making excursions. She was an active mother, volunteering at school and keeping score at the baseball field. She was also a philanthropist who supported local charities and fundraisers. Andrea had a wanderlust that took her around the world. She enjoyed traveling and connecting abroad with her brother Chris and his partner, Hubertus. She spent her spare time dabbling in interior décor, playing poker, avidly reading, rooting for her Dodgers, and watching Jeopardy! religiously.

Her son married Frances (Silkwood), and her daughter married Brad (Friday); she was an incredible mother-in-law. Ethan, Casey, Alicia, and Christa were the beloved grandchildren who followed, and soon Andrea was “Gaga,” the most devoted grandmother.

Andrea never missed the opportunity to bring a cake to celebrate a birthday, went above and beyond at Christmas, and cherished every moment with her family and friends. Her generous spirit will be remembered fondly, as will her contagious laughter and sweet dimples. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Boys and Girls Club of America in her memory.
