Our beautiful mom, Alice Ordoñez, passed away March 20, 2026, peacefully at home with her family by her side after a short but courageous battle with leukemia.
Alice was born on June 14, 1949, and was a life long resident of Oxnard. She graduated from Oxnard high school in 1968. She began her first job in February 1968 as a supply clerk at the Port Hueneme base. She continued her civilian career with various roles and departments, where she met many lifelong friends along the way. She took some time off to raise her children, but later retired from Point Mugu in August 2006 after 27 proud years of service. In between working and holding varies part-time jobs, she manage to attend college and received her Associate of Arts degree in Liberal Arts with honors from Oxnard college.
After retirement she took up her second career as a paraprofessional. She enjoyed working with the kids who made a lasting impact on her. She continued this second career for 15 years until she became ill.
She had an amazing work ethic and almost always held a second job to provide for her children. She enjoyed gardening, baking, crocheting, watching her game shows channel and her classic television programs, especially Little House on the Prairie.
Alice is survived by her three children: Angela ( Ruben), Erica ( David), and Robert “Bobby” ( Margie); granddaughters Megan, Crystal, Sara and Moraiah; sister Gloria (Jess); and brother, Steve. She’s was proceeded in death by her son Daniel, whom she missed dearly; her sister and partner in crime, Patsy Kershaw; and her parents, Virginia and Porfirio Ordoñez.
A memorial mass will be held at Mary Star of the Sea on April 10, 2026, at 10:00a.m, and will be followed by a reception at the Oxnard Knights of Columbus.
