William Thain Hay. age 90, died Sunday 17 November 2019 in Ventura, California. Born to William Hay and Lucy Delona Carver Hay in 1929, in Ventura, California.  He was the first son in a family of six daughters and two sons. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all of his life.  He served a mission for the church to the New England States. Bill also served in the Air Force during the Korean War. While training for Air Force duties in Denver, Colorado, Bill met Margaret Frances Arnold. They married in 1953 in Salt Lake City, Utah, shortly before Bill departed for Korea.

After returning from serving in the military, Bill returned to live in Ventura, California where he and Margaret raised their five daughters. Bill worked as a civil servant at both Point Mugu and Port Hueneme Naval Bases until his retirement in 1994. He received a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from California State University Northridge.

After the death of his wife Margaret, Bill married Janet Hulstrom Lawrence in 1981. Because Jan had four daughters, this caused Bill's daughter count to jump up to nine. Bill had many hobbies and interests including singing and family history, but nothing was more important than his family.

He is survived by nine daughters, thirty grandchildren, thirty-two great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and a sister. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wives, and one grandson.
