Rudy Michael Pena

With much sadness Rudolph (Rudy) M.  Pena Jr. passed away on April 21, 2019, at the age of 73, just 3 weeks from his 74th birthday.  He was a Ventura and Santa Barbara counties resident for his entire life.

Rudy was the first born to Rudolph Sr. and Carmen Pena in Santa Barbara.  He is survived by his wife Karen, mother Carmen, siblings Richard, Anne, Suzie, Jimmy and Rosanne, son Jay, daughter Tisha (Scott), grand-daughters Amanda, Domonique (Niki), great-grandchildren Christian, Tiffany, devoted AJ and a large extended family.

Rudy graduated from San Marcos High School and immediately enlisted in the Air Force during the Vietnam War.  He serviced the C-130 airplane motors while working in a country torn apart in war.  Upon discharge, he began his lengthy career with GTE in the San Fernando Valley.  Due to industry cuts, Rudy left the phone company to manage a family-owned liquor store and became a cash register repair man.  As luck followed him, he returned to GTE (Verizon) to complete a career of 31 years retiring in 2005.

So much more could and should be said about Rudy.  All of us hold so many memories of his funny sayings that would just come off the top of his head.  We will take with us his amazing ability to help people see the humor in life and laugh with them.

Rudy is at peace and we will all have to remember that he is watching us and will keep us in line.  A Celebration of Life will be held this summer.  In lieu of flowers please make a donation to your favorite charity.​
