Robert C. Hilsdorf

Robert C. Hilsdorf of Oxnard died January 16, 2019 at the age of 75 after a long illness. Born in Harnell, N.Y., Robert joined the Navy at age 17, served aboard the USS Breckenridge docked in Oakland, CA. It was there he met and married his wife Fran over 50 years ago. He served his 4 years and returned back to N.Y. After a short time away from the military he discovered he missed it and transferred to the Seabees at Port Hueneme. There he did 2 tours of duty in Vietnam earning a bronze medal. He taught math to new enlistees and retired after 20 years, he then worked for E.J. Harrison for 28 years as their Parts and Service Director.

Robert is survived by his wife Fran, daughter Lisa Harrison, 3 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his son Matthew who passed in 2011.
