It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend Richard Maria. Our daddy was born on June 7, 1924, he was 94 years old.

He is survived by his wife of 72 years Cora Maria. Also left to mourn his loss are his four daughters; Corrine Valdez, Christine Guerrero (Bert), Katherine Martinez (Mark) and Letisha Ramos (Lalo), 13 grandchildren; Mike Valdez, Tonie Valdez, Dave ( Khristine) Valdez, Rick (Nicole) Valdez, James (Michelle) Valdez, John (Perla) Guerrero, Brian Sandez, Brandon (Angelina) Sandez, Lorena (Anthony) Beltran, Tereze (Jose) Carrillo, Jessica Maria (Ricardo), Hilary (Paul) Ruiz and Justin Martinez, 26 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his sisters Kathy Romero (Jay), Sally Bustamante, Josie Claudillo and Alice Carswell.

He will be greeted in heaven by his loving parents Pete and Annie Maria, siblings Frank, Bobby, Peter, Tony, Marge, Rose and Betty Ann.

Our dad proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was very patriotic. He was a quiet man who deeply loved his family, his country and especially his tequila. He grew up in Oxnard and made El Rio his home. He worked as a brick mason and Longshoreman respectively. He was an active member of Santa Clara Church where he served as an usher and volunteer for years as well as a member of the Knights of Columbus.

You will live forever in our hearts dad ~ Love Your Four Queens. We would also like to thank his special caregiver and nephew Bobby Marin for his love and support.

How blessed is the tie that binds
Our hearts in lasting love,
The comradeship of kindred minds
Is like to that above.
So when at last we have to part
In sorrow and in pain
We know we still are joined in heart,
Until we meet again.
