Jean Adeline Mashburn
October 1, 1920 ~ November 9, 2014 (age 94) 94 Years Old
Jean Mashburn Obituary
Jean Mashburn went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 9th, 2014, at the age of 94. She was born October 1st, 1920, to Italian immigrants Antonio and Philomena Focareta in Dillonvale, Ohio.
She grew up in Pennsylvania and moved to Oxnard in 1958. She met the love of her life Pete Mashburn and they married in October 1958. She became a mother to Pete's two young sons. They had 27 wonderful years of marriage together. Jean lovingly cared for Pete through his illness, until he went up to his heavenly home.
Jean graduated from the Franklin School of Nursing in Pittsburg. She worked as a dental receptionist/assistant for many years in the Oxnard area. She spent 17 years as a dedicated volunteer at Saint John's Regional Medical Center Information desk in Oxnard. In 1999, she served as the President of the Saint John's Regional Medical Center Auxiliary. On June 24, 2010, Jean was honored for her selfless service and awarded a pin for 12,000 hours.
Jean was able to remain in her home because of the care and companionship she received from her sister Lela and her caregiver Anna. We will forever be grateful to these two women who loved and provided for her. Jean had many wonderful neighbors and friends who regularly came to visit and helped in so many ways. We sincerely thank all these special people who were there for her.
Jean had a deep faith and love for the Lord. She was a dedicated prayer warrior and friend. She was loved and admired by many. She will be dearly missed and will forever be in our hearts.
She is survived by her sister Lela Focareta, her two sons Glen and Greg Mashburn, daughter-in-law Donna Mashburn, and four grandchildren Kenny, Michael, Sabrina and Amy. She is also survived by many nephews and two nieces in Pennsylvania.
